Goods in Transit

There are deciding factors that need to be taken into consideration when arranging Goods In Transit cover, such as whether you’re making a delivery by third party carriers, including the Post Office, or using your own vehicle.

With independent advice from the team at Aynsley Insurance, you can have relevant cover included within your business insurance package for added protection.

We’ll look into what type of transport is being used, such as a small van or HGV, and advise you on what type of policy can be arranged; for example, either a new-for-old basis, which will replace any lost or damaged items at their current market value, or indemnity cover, which takes into account general depreciation.

Both options can make for a protective package that can includes cover for:

  • Theft & Loss while in transit
  • Damage to goods caused by accidents during transit
  • Other damage to goods caused during transit
  • Problems caused by unexpected delay in delivery

As with any insurance policy, there are actions that can invalidate your protection, such as if items are inadequately packaged, and you and your Insurer will have the opportunity to agree on a value of the goods before the policy is placed.
