At Aynsley Insurance we know that obtaining car or van insurance at a reasonable price can be tricky when you have a tainted driving history...but it doesn’t have to be.
If you have a few points on your licence, or the odd claim then our mainstream panel of insurers will be eager to get you on board. However, if you have been unfortunate enough to pick up a number of points, accidents or claims, even if you have non-motoring convictions then please read on to see how we can help you obtain a competitive and hassle free insurance quotation.
What if I have points on my licence or have previously been banned?
The reason that our insurers target drivers who have previously been banned, or have managed to pick up a significant number of points on their licence, is because many of these drivers are less likely to fall foul of the law again in the future and will often emerge as safer drivers than before. We can cater for all of the major motoring convictions such as, but not limited to, the following:
- DR or DG Convictions (Drink or drugs related)
- IN10 (No insurance)
- TT99 (Disqualification under ‘totting up’ - if penalty points reach 12 or more within 3 years)
- CU80 (Using mobile phone whilst driving)
- BA Convictions (Driving whilst disqualified)
- CD Convictions (Careless driving)
- DD Convictions (Reckless/dangerous driving)
- AC Convictions (Accident offences)

What if I have a high number of claims on my record?
No matter how good you are at driving it isn’t out of the question for anyone to have the misfortune of being involved in a few accidents and sometimes, as luck may have it, it can happen over a short period of time. Even the best drivers have a momentary lapse of concentration whilst leading busy lives and often you can be the victim of misfortune, for example a hit and run driver or vandalism; why should you be unfairly punished?
At Aynsley Insurance we like to look at every situation based on its own personal merits and not judge your record on face value. We can cater for a large number of claims and accidents on your driving record and we will be more than happy to discuss your history, listen to your version of events and obtain a fair premium based on your individual circumstances.
What if I have non-motoring convictions?
If you’ve been convicted of an offence that isn’t motor related and isn’t classed as ‘spent’, you may have noticed that (Often within the small print!) insurers, including many of the online comparison sites may ask you for more information.
Failure to provide this can result in claims being refused further down the line, however not all insurers are narrow minded when it comes to this and we have providers that will offer competitive, judgement-free premiums for a wide range of non-motoring convictions meaning that you won’t encounter any problems further down the line if you do need to claim.
Please note that we adhere to strict data protection regulation so rest assured that your data will remain secure at all times.
What do I do next?
We have insurance providers that specialise in helping motorists with adverse driving records, regardless of the circumstances, and we have years of experience discussing a wide range of varied personal histories. We will listen to your side of events and we will never judge, but we will aim to obtain you a competitive and quality insurance policy combined with a helpful, friendly and efficient service.
