England has entered its third national lockdown, which is set to last until at least late February. People have been told to stay at home, only leaving for essential reasons.
It means businesses up and down the country, from cafes to clothes shops, have been forced to close.
During the first lockdown, the Government forced garages to close, and allowed drivers to extend their cars’ MOTs if they were due to expire.
Here are the rules this time around…
Can I get an MOT during lockdown?
Yes, MOT services will be allowed to stay open during this lockdown.
If your MOT is due to expire during the lockdown you will not be granted an extension like last spring, and will need to take your vehicle for its test.
You should not take your vehicle for an MOT if you are self-isolating, and should instead wait until your isolation period is over.
